Orientation programme for Montessori parents

Parents who have admitted their children newly in Golden Bead have a desire to know about the Montessori system of education (philosophy, curriculum, method and material) the school organises a programme to meet these needs of the parents.

When children enter the age group of 2.5 to 3 years of age, Montessori believes that their home environment is no longer enough to meet their developmental needs.  They therefore need another environment which stimulates and satisfies their development. A Montessori House of Children supports these needs of the child.

Story telling is a powerful skill. It is a valuable art that dates back centuries.
Montessori believes in enriching a child’s language and vocabulary through different means and story telling is one of the key means for a Pre- primary child to develop imagination, creativity, interaction and visual elements.

Mrs. Jyothi , a professional storyteller  from Kathalaya -  narrating stories using puppets and songs which the children enjoyed very much.

Sports Day

" Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world" - Maria Montessori.

Sports is a form of discipline. It is an integral part of Golden Bead's curriculum as it meets the  developmental needs of the child. Any form of play requires a sense of discipline and concentration. Children need space to express themselves, organised sports activities help children develop control over their fine and gross motor movements and acquire balance and co- ordination.

Planetarium

The solar system is a crucial and an interesting part of culture in the Montessori curriculum. As we started activities on the solar system, we decided to take the children to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium to give them a visual experience and enhance their imagination.

The Planetarium houses a science park that facilitates fun learning and understanding of science concepts. The children enjoyed this hands-on experience.
